Celltowers
ABOUT
Working with Melbourne-based alternative rock band Celltowers, I developed a distinctive visual identity through close collaboration with founder Jacob Tait. The mixed-media strategy centers on tactile, imperfect materials (black pastels, scanned prints, and black and white photography) that cut through typical band promotion with raw authenticity. This grassroots aesthetic distinguishes Celltowers on social media while remaining easy for the band to maintain. My ongoing work includes designing gig posters and art directing photoshoots that build their visual narrative while staying true to the unrefined energy at the heart of their music.

Art directed a photoshoot for Celltowers at Parliament Station in Naarm, utilising the train station's late-modernist architecture to create a distinctly urban visual narrative. The station's reflective panels and geometric forms became key compositional elements, producing imagery that taps into the resurgence of mid-century design aesthetics. The result is photography that feels both timely and distinctive, positioning the band within a broader cultural conversation around analogue nostalgia and contemporary style.
